Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, which is used to stop the so-called email spoofing where an email message can be sent from one e-mail, but to appear as being sent from another one, frequently with the idea to scam the recipient someway. If SPF protection is activated for a domain name, a special record is made for it in the Domain Name System and all the DNS servers around the world have it. The record includes all the mail servers that are allowed to send legitimate messages from an e-mail address part of the domain. When an email is sent, the very first DNS server it goes to checks the SPF record and when its sending server is authorized, the message is sent to the target destination. In case, however, the sending server is not contained in the SPF record for the particular domain, the message will not be submitted and it will be discarded. When you use this solution, it'll prevent third parties from sending spam that seem to have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Cloud Hosting

You are able to enable the SPF protection option for your domains with only a few clicks in the Hepsia Control Panel, which is provided with all of our Linux cloud hosting. This is performed via the section bearing an identical name and you are able to allow the protection for each domain name on our revolutionary cloud platform. Using a very convenient interface, all you have to type in is the hostname of the mail server which will be approved to send out messages from your e-mails and its IPv4 or IPv6 address. Of course, it is possible to add several servers as well, when needed. When your email addresses are managed by us, you can also use an even more secure option by setting a restriction that email messages can be sent only if your domain names have our MX records. This option can't be applied in case your web site is hosted here, while the email addresses are with a third-party service provider. Either way, the SPF protection solution can really improve your web security and prevent other people from counterfeiting your e-mail addresses.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

The SPF protection function is available with all Linux semi-dedicated plans, so in case you host your domains in an account on our cloud hosting platform, you are able to activate this service without difficulty for all of your domain names. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with the semi-dedicated accounts, features a quite easy to work with interface, which means that you do not have to be proficient in the use of computers to protected your e-mails. You will only need to type the hostname and the IP address of each mail server that you would like to be certified to send out e-mails from your addresses and shortly after that the updated record will be activated for the domain name that you've selected. As an extra option, we will also allow you to restrict your outgoing emails and protect your mailboxes even further by permitting emails to be sent only when the domain in question includes our MX records i.e. the email messages for the domain have to be taken care of by us and not by some other provider. By doing so you'll get even better control and there will not be any chances for somebody to fake your e-mail addresses for malicious intentions.
